EDUCATION REFORM REPORT SHOULD BE INCLUSIVE OF PEOPLE AND CHILDREN LIVING WITH DISABILITIES

Student learning in various institutions should get involved in the society and ensure an all inclusive education of learners with disability as envisaged in the education reform report to enhance effective involvement in the education reforms act from national to grassroot level in respect to the rights of those living with disabilities.

Speaking during a news conference at a Nairobi hotel attended by various people with disability organizations lead by former legislator  Hon Mary Aribiza has called in proper training of all people and children with disability in schools to ensure they fit properly in all learning institutions and that all their special needs can be addressed even in an environment where a school has learners without disabilities.

The former legislator has called on the government to double the aid given to people with disability to cushion them from the rising cost of living to which will sustain them from wallowing in poverty.

Rights of people living with disability should not be disregarded as the education report act is implemented. This will ensure a level field of those with disability to match those without disability which can only be achieved by advocacy on inclusive education and review of petition on access to credit and affirmative action funds by people living with disability.
