Addressing a news conference at a Nairobi hotel ahead of the climate summit which kicks off tomorrow in Nairobi Kenya, the actors have voiced their reservations saying the conference may fail to adress it's expectations therefore formulated a set of demands to African leaders to commit to a just and fair transition to renewable energy and low carbon climate resilient that respects rights and dignity of all people.
The agenda of the summit excludes civil societies and is dominated by western interests therefore African countries should state their position clearly and stand by the principles of climate justice, human rights and gender equality to protect the livelihoods of it's citizen.
Human and wildlife conflict should also be addressed in the conference since climate related catastrophies have led to invasion of human habited areas by wildlife that cause harm and destruction and even death an issue that non state actors have said should be discussed in the summit to come up with solutions.
The article six of Paris agreement that stated hundred billion should be contributed every year for mitigations has not been achieved therefore need to rise awareness and stop politicizing climate change issues which continue to disrupt lives and livelihoods said the actors who spoke jointly in Nairobi.
